16.10.010 Adopted.
The Uniform Plumbing Code, as published by the International
Association of Plumbing and Mechanical officials, 1994 Edition, and
Appendices, are adopted and shall be referred to as the Plumbing Code
of the County.  (Ord. CS 625 § 4 (part), 1996).

16.10.020 Appendix I(I) -- Private sewage disposal.
Appendix I(I) has been amended by adding the following:
     For purposes of this Code, "individual aerobic systems" are
considered alternative systems and are subject to the following
conditions:
          A. Permit to Operate:  A permit to operate an aerobic
treatment plant is required and is issued by the Department of
Environmental Resources.  To obtain or renew the permit, a current
service contract for servicing and maintaining the treatment unit,
along with the annual inspection fee, must be provided to that
Department.  For the permit to remain valid, the plant must be
operating within design specifications and the annual fees paid. 
          B. Operation and Maintenance:  In those areas within the
County where individual aerobic wastewater treatment units are
required, it shall be unlawful for any person who owns or operates
such a unit to permit the unit to revert to a septic system by
improper operations or maintenance, or to operate in a manner
inconsistent with the design and operation specifications of that
unit.   (Ord. CS 625 § 4 (part), 1996).

16.10.030 Appendix I, Table I-1 Uniform Plumbing Code -- Septic tank location.
Appendix I, Table I-1 of the Uniform Plumbing Code is amended by
adding Notes 8, 9, and 10 to read as follows:
     Notes
          8. Septic tank leaching lines shall be separated by a
minimum of twelve (12) feet, measured center-to-center of lines.
          9. No portion of a septic tank/aerobic tank or leach line
shall be located closer than fifty (50) feet to a private well
supplying water, or closer than one hundred (100) feet to a well
supplying water for public use.
          10. Septic tanks and leaching areas can be permitted within
the 100 year flood plain only if the sewage system and expansion area
can be installed a minimum of two hundred (200) feet from the main
river channel."  (Ord. CS 625 § 4 (part), 1996).
