Mission Statement
The mission of the Department of Parks and Recreation is to implement the policies established
by the Board of Supervisors pertaining to parks which include acquiring, developing, and maintaining
recreation areas serving every segment of society, including the disabled and the economically
disadvantaged; providing the leadership necessary to develop and manage parks and recreational facilities
in ways that will provide the best possible experience for people to enjoy the out-of-doors at the most
reasonable costs.

Effective Wednesday, March 27, 2013, the restriction of no body-to-water (human or animal) contact will be lifted at Woodward Reservoir.

Presents the 17th Annual Fireworks Celebration Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Woodward Reservoir.
Fireworks Display starts at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Personal fireworks are not allowed at the reservoir!
$20.00 a carload on the day of the fireworks show.

Effective July 1, 2011, the Las Palmas, Niel Hansen, Orestimba, and
Shiloh Fishing Accesses will be CLOSED. Only minimal maintenance
services will be provided at Fox Grove Fishing Access. Closure of the
four fishing access areas will remove the provided portable restrooms
and trash receptacles. No maintenance service will be provided in the
closed areas.
Frank Raines Off-Highway Vehicle Park will be CLOSED for fire season effective Monday, June 3, 2013. The last day you can ride in the OHV park is Sunday, June 2, 2013. An announcement will be posted on this page when the park re-opens. Campgrounds and Day Use areas will remain open.
All restroom facilities in community parks that are maintained by
Stanislaus County Department of Parks and Recreation are closed until
further notice.
