Mission Statement

The mission of the Department of Parks and Recreation is to implement the policies established by the Board of Supervisors pertaining to parks which include acquiring, developing, and maintaining recreation areas serving every segment of society, including the disabled and the economically disadvantaged; providing the leadership necessary to develop and manage parks and recreational facilities in ways that will provide the best possible experience for people to enjoy the out-of-doors at the most reasonable costs.

animals Did you know we have a hunting program for wild pig, deer, and rabbit at Frank Raines Regional Park?

Effective Thursday, October 1, 2015, and until further notice, bodily water contact (human or animal) will be prohibited at Woodward Reservoir.

Frank Raines Off-Highway Vehicle Park will be CLOSED for fire season beginning Monday, June 15, 2015. This planned closure date is subject to change and dependent upon weather conditions. An announcement will be posted on this page of these changes and when the park should re-open. Campgrounds and Day Use areas will remain open year round.

All restroom facilities in community parks that are maintained by Stanislaus County Department of Parks and Recreation are closed until further notice.
