Stan Risen - Assistant Executive Officer

Stan Risen was appointed as an Assistant Executive Officer in May 2005. In his current role, he oversees the preparation and monitoring of the County Budget and leads the Finance-Operations team which serves as the Chief Executive Office liaison to the departments of the Assessor, Auditor-Controller, Clerk-Recorder/Registrar of Voters, County Counsel, District Attorney, Probation, Public Defender, Sheriff and Treasurer/Tax Collector. His team is also assigned to work with the Integrated Criminal Justice System (ICJIS), Family Justice Center, Grand Jury, Law Library, Regional 911 and StanCERA. Stan facilitates the work of the Safe Community and Efficient Government Operations Board Priority Teams.

Mr. Risen began his career in Stanislaus County in 1987 as an Appraiser in the Assessor’s Office. In June 1999, he was brought up to the Chief Executive Office to serve as project manager for the development of an Information Technology Strategic Plan and has remained in the office ever since. He has been involved in numerous projects including the development of the County’s salary projection and budget submittal/monitoring systems, a comprehensive update of the Public Facilities Fee program, the Health Services Agency Strategic Plan, Salida Community Plan, "GIS Central" and negotiations with Covanta Energy for a new Waste-to-Energy Plant agreement. Mr. Risen has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bob Jones University and is a former Planning Commissioner and City Councilman for the City of Ceres.
